Wondrous WonderCon!
I'm in the midst of a move (details to come soon!) so I've been pretty swamped the last couple of weeks. But I wanted to take a moment to post some photos from our appearance at WonderCon in Anaheim two weeks ago (March 18 - 20).As usual, it was a great show for us - we sold out of books, sold a whack of tshirts, and gained a whole new legion of fans. Thanks so much to everyone who came by our booth as well as those that helped us out - Alex from WonderCon, Mimi Cruz from Night Flight Comics, and everyone from IDW Publishing, especially Dirk Wood, Chris Mowry, Mike Ford and everyone else. Here are some glimpses of our time at the show:
WonderCon here we come!
I believe that I've written this before but WonderCon has a very special place in my heart. Back four years ago it was at this show (in San Francisco) that we officially launched Kill Shakespeare - doing some signings, meeting with media, and sitting on a panel.Four years, three volumes (with a fourth on its way), too many conventions to count and we're coming back again - and really looking forward to it! I've had the privilege of representing us at this show the last two years but this year I'm joined by Conor. With our hectic schedules it's actually rare to see us at the same show - mainly it's only New York Comic-Con and FanExpo in Toronto. We will be selling and signing books and ShakesGeare all weekend at Booth D-13. Come by and visit us and we'll sing a song, crack a joke, or give you a Canadian-ism.Conor is also sitting on an IDW panel (details TBA) so look for that as well.Anaheim, here we come!

Sunny photos from cloudy Anaheim...
WonderCon 2012 just finished yesterday (Sun, Mar 18/12) and I still haven't wound down from how much fun the event in Anaheim was. As mentioned in an earlier blog post, we launched the first issue of Kill Shakespeare two years ago in San Francisco at the event and it was great to come back to celebrate. Thanks to everyone who came out to see us and those that stopped by our booth. One of the great things about a convention like this is the number of people that walk by, see our banner, and then say to us, "Kill Shakespeare? Why would anyone want to do that?" It's great meeting with fellow Shakespeare fans (Bardolaters), fans of comics, and hanging out with fun people overall.More importantly, thanks to other special people - the team at IDW that helped us out this weekend (Mike, Dirk, Chloe, John, Greg, etc.), the people at WonderCon (thanks for the great booth spot), AdaPia (for connecting us with the right people), Keith and Dave from Avatar (for helping with shipping), and most importantly, Alex Renshaw and Lyz (Lyzard) Reblin for helping out with the booth through the entire weekend. You guys are all great and make all of this possible. Here is a collection of photos from this past weekend...
All Things Fangirl Interview!
While at the IDW booth at WonderCon last Sunday we were accosted by some females looking to kill Shakespeare... They asked us impromptu questions about the series and recorded the interview on their exception Flip camera. The quality is pretty good... and so now we're looking to purchase one for ourselves.
The interview was a lot of fun, as you can see...Check out their site by clicking on their logo - it's a great site full of really great analysis of pop culture. I'm going to make sure that I visit their site regularly!
The Geek Girls Will Love Us...
One of the best interviews we had at WonderCon was with Kate Kotler from Geek Girl on the Street, a really fun and informative website skewed towards, of course, females. Kate (and her team) were a lot of fun to hang out with and exchange jokes and barbs. There's gotta be a way we can design a character in our story after her...
Click on the photo for the second part of our interview (you can read the first part here).
WonderCon Interview with Cammy's Comic-Con Corner
Our first interview at WonderCon was with Cam from Cammy's Comic Corner. It was a lot of fun and got everything off to a great start! Take a look at how we started to get our stories to jive...
Kill Shakespeare in San Francisco!
Conor, Andy B and I are heading off to San Francisco tomorrow (Wednesday) to take part in this year's WonderCon. At the show we will be officially launching the series and doing some signings. We are also overseeing a panel discussion on Sunday, with the following information:What Would Shakespeare Do?With both epic and personal tales of adventure, violence, romance, lust, and drama, today's comic book stories bear many similarities to the tales of William Shakespeare. The creators of IDW Publishing's Kill Shakespeare debut their new series and debate—with other creators and academics—how relevant Shakespeare still is in today's comic book world. Would the Bard be rolling over in his grave at the thought of Hamlet rubbing shoulders with Batman and Buffy, or would he be working alongside Stan Lee creating a new flock of "true believers"? Room 220 - 2:30 - 3:30
If you're at WonderCon stop by the IDW booth to chat and find out more about Kill Shakespeare!
